Suicide Prevention and Management

This webinar includes foundational education around suicide risk factors including considerations for individuals with substance use, language used, suicide inquiry, and suicide risk assessment. During the presentation we explore evidence-based interventions that can be used immediately as well as ongoing with persons who are suicidal, including the use of a safety planning intervention and means restriction counseling.

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of suicide risk factors and warning signs, including special considerations for individuals with substance use.

  • Learn about evidenced-based screening, assessment, and intervention practices, as well as wellness planning, team-based care, and electronic health record considerations.

  • Gain an understanding on the development and use of a suicide care pathway and other resources.
